Let's use the power of ActiveRain to help reduce the amount of craigslist scammers.

I am selling some camera lenses through Craigslist and receive at least 3 scam enquiries to 1 legitimate.

I will start by posting the email address of the alleged scammer so that it is easily found by searching google so that they can avoide the scam being run.

How this scam usually works is the alleged scammer will contact you with a simple email asking if the article is still for sale. (sometimes this email comes from Scotte Daniels <scotte.daniels2@gmail.com>)

This is done to engage you in conversation and get your real email address instead of the Craigslist masked address.

After seeming like a serious buyer, bordering on to good to be true, they ask for your paypal account and want you to ship the article.

Of course after you ship the article, usually something worth at least a few hundred dollars or more, the Paypal charges are NSF or reversed and you are left with no money and no article.
