That is a terrific idea that Barnes and Nobles along with California Pizza Kitchen is doing to give the gift of reading. Reading has gone by they wayside with all the fast and instantaneous gratification the Internet gives. It would be nice to see it come back full swing...I, for one, LOVE reading.
Nice idea and cause - kids need to read more and this helps. Kindles coming for my own kids. Regards Dave
Great post and like Carol... I love to read and I love giving books to others... All children should be given the gift of reading at a young age..
Happy Day
I couldn't agree with you more. I have been giving my OWN daughter a book or two for Christmas each year thus far.
Carol it's the gift that just keeps giving. Even if it's a Christmas Book, the kids still want to read it or have it read to them all year long. Ho, ho, ho.
I agree Brenda. Book on Nooks, iPad, Kindle's and the like are just not the same and a real book in hand. That reminds me, I think I'll run out and get some Christmas books before Tristan gets back this evening.
Dave I like the idea of Kindle books and I have a friend that swears by them. Me, personally, I haven't finished a book yet that I started on Kindle. Kids on the other hand, especially bigger kids, love being able to read books on Kindle.

Cheryl, at 4 years old, my grandson loves going to the library and I LOVE that.
Charita - Thanks for the information on reading to a child is one of the a great gift and helping a great cause.
Charita~ I've always had a love for reading. My oldest granddaughter has the same love. I'm always buying books for my grandkids. I encourage reading in their young lives whenever and however I can!
Charita,
Love this sharing for the kids and reading. One of my best memories with our three kids is watching them learn to read.
All the best, Michelle
As a child I loved reading and teachers always gave prizes to the ones that read the most books and gave book reports. They don't do that anymore.
