Santa's Workshop and the YWCA of Central Alabama
Reading and having access to books is something that many of us may take for granted. But how about those that may have limited resources and access to the fundamentals of reading. Well that's where the YWCA's Santa's
Workshop comes into the picture. The YWCA's Santa's Workshop benefits the homeless population that are living in homeless shelters and transitional housing. And while parents can shop for items on their kids Christmas list, the "shopping" is actually free of charge.
Kids also get to give or make special gifts for their parents so that they don't feel left out of the holiday gift giving spirit.
You can do your part by checking out the gift registry and by dropping off your donation at the YWCA at 309 23rd Street North, Birmingham, AL 35203.
You say your time is very limited. It gets even better, you can shop the YWCA Santa's Workshop wish list at Amazon.com or the wish list at Target.com. Both of these links are specifically designated for the YWCA of Central Alabama's Santa's Workshop.
Oh but wait, that's not the only way you can donate. While you are doing your personal shopping online (other than Amazon.com or Target.com) and you see something that you know any kid would love, just order it and have it shipped to:

Come on and do your part. Give to those that are less fortunate than yourself. That way, everybody shares in the giving.
