Check Out Arvada, Denver's Small Town Neighbor

If you're moving to the Denver to Boulder area, don't assume Denver and Boulder are the 'only' places to live.arvada co, olde town arvada, denver to boulder

If you want to live in the 'hottest' neighborhoods (e.g., the most expensive), if you want to read articles about how exciting and 'up and coming' your neighborhood is, if you want your friends to drool over how cool you are because you live in 'that' neighborhood - then yes, you need to live in Denver or Boulder.

But if you want something not quite so presumptious (e.g., 'spendy'), check out Arvada, which offers -

  • The Arvada Center for the Performing Arts. Honestly, I enjoy an evening at The Arvada Center far more than the hassle of going to the Denver Center.  And parking is free at The Arvada Center!
  • A quaint Olde Town area, not like the master-planned shopping venues packed with the same 'cool' stores you see everywhere, but instead offering everything from spice shops and oil/vinegar shops to the Army/Navy store and tattoo parlors. Live music, community events, beer made on premises, ice cream made on premises, and wine made in a nearby Arvada location.  And parking is free!
  • Equestrian heaven - the 27-acre Arvada Equestrian Center has an outdoor riding area and pasture, and it's just grown by a 7.75 acre donation (the former Meridian Farms) which will offer an indoor arena.
  • Public pools - indoor and out
  • Dog parks
  • Dozens of parks, including the nation's smallest National Wildlife Refuge
  • Hundreds of miles of trails
  • Majestic mountain views

And ... if you still want to do something in Denver like enjoy a sporting event, amusement park or gourmet restaurant, it's easy to get there.

I'd love to show off my town - click the links above to read more about Arvada or contact me to get started house hunting!

I write posts on real estate issues and local events in the Denver metro area, especially those communities between Denver and Boulder, as a public service. My hope is to give people an idea of the ‘flavor’ of our community, in case they’re new or moving to the Denver area.

I am a residential real estate agent, happily helping folks buy a house or sell a house in the beautiful and friendly suburbs northwest of Denver.  Read what past clients have said about me.
