It's amazing how you can live someplace for a long time, and never experience all that place has to offer.
Atlanta is just such a place for me. I've lived here for 18 years, and there are still things I haven't done. And this is one.
Lake Lanier Magical Nights of Lights
This holiday tradition is hosted at the Lake Lanier Islands Resort, Northeast of Downtown Atlanta by about 43 miles. This year, marks the 20th year (and no, I STILL have not been) of this special holiday treat.
Pack your car full of family, friends and neighbors and head out to the lake for a night to remember!
Drive over the magnificent snowflake bridge, down through the 12 days of Christmas, up past the illuminated diamond wonder light, under the blanket-lit bridge, all the way to the dancing Holiday House, Santa’s Workshop, Christmas Carnival and more! Starting Friday, November 16th until Monday, December 31st, come celebrate our 20th Anniversary of Magical Nights of Lights featuring miles of illuminated characters and millions of twinkling lights!
You're Magical Nights of Lights journey doesn't stop with the lights. Our Holiday Village is a must-see for everyone, complete with a bonfire for roasting marshmallows, delicious holiday fare, pony and amusement rides, holiday shopping and much more. Look for that perfect Christmas tree ornament to commemorate your annual visit. And, what holiday spectacle would be complete without a visit with Jolly Old St. Nick? Kids of all ages can take a break from roasting marshmallows and riding ponies to have their photo taken and discuss their holiday wish lists with Santa himself at the Santa Shop. Nominal charges apply to the Santa photos, amusement rides, pony rides and marshmallow roasting.
You want to be sure to pack the car at $60 per car for admission! But it looks like a treat to be had!
