Poles , Blimps , Miniture helicopters to Small planes . People have been
trying all types of ways to get that Money Shot.
High Shots Photography Halifax
The rest of my work is here: High Shots (gallery)
Today I made a video showing just how it works: http://youtu.be/k5V6VWB4uoc
Basically besides the pole (which is 7 ' tall fully collasped)
it all comes apart to fit in my car.
The base I made -Looks like home plate - With a hole in The middle .
The pole attaches to the camera to the top of the pole with a jig I made with a slice of plywood with a dowl through it. We hoist up the pole to the desired height. About 3/4 roof height.
It has a reach of +- 30 ft . It draws a crowd where ever I go ! The snazzy monitor is only needed
for jobs where there are a lot of trees overhanging and I'm not sure of the view plane. On most shoots
I can get by without the monitor. I take about 6 shots so I am guaranteed a proper angle.
The remote shutter I purchased via China for about $30.
I use a 40D with 10-22mm so I can get away with a closer shot than normal.
All this takes me 5 mins Depending on the slope of the ground and how far I have to
lug my gear. I hook up my monitor and switch on the remote control and I'm rolling.
The monitor looks like this.
It works on a 12v batterie or 9 rechargeable AA's - depending on how on the ball
I am with charging them.
Available in the Halifax and the
surrounding areas . My video is here again : http://youtu.be/k5V6VWB4uoc
