Magical Moments at the Toronto Christmas Market 2012

There is a place, not far from home, where memories are made, lights twinkle day and night, songs and bells ring out across the cobblestones, glasses are raised in good cheer, traditional Christmas smells waft through the crisp lakeside air, children play and young and old from every nationality around the world can be found. Where is this place?

It's right here in Ontario, Canada in the Distillery Dristrict of Toronto. The Lowes Toronto Christmas Market is a place everyone should visit at least once each Christmas season.  It is 'Everything Christmas' and then some.
Shopping For Antiques at The Toronto Christmas Market

Humble Monster Guarding the Gate at the Toronto Christmas Market
A Gentle Giant guards the gate at the Toronto Christmas Market. Signposts point the way to Santa, the Beer Gardens and More!

Shop Window at the Toronto Christmas Market
Beautiful shops line the cobblestone alleyways with colourful gifts for one and all. There's something here for even the most difficult person to shop for on your list. If your list isn't finished yet, drop by the Toronto Christmas Market. Santa shops here!

History Abounds at the Torongto Christmas Market

You'll be in awe of the 45 foot live tree in the courtyard. Donated by Trees Ontario, it is a focal point and gathering place for kids big and small. When the sun has gone down, the tree glows with thousands of lights and glittering red balls.

Beer Garden District at the Toronto Christmas Market
What's a visit to an old-fashioned Christmas Market without a stop by the Beer Garden? The Toronto Christmas Market has cosy places where you can sit outside by a fire pit and share in a mug or two. Don't fancy beer? There's lots of mulled wine, whisky and apple cider too!

Shopping at the Toronto Christmas Market
After a fun-filled day shopping and sightseeing, our toes were froze and the wind had picked up. We ducked in to this cosy cafe for a hot dinner and wonderful cup of tea.

Don't miss this year's Magical Moments at the Toronto Christmas Market!

Looks like a nice place to shop for antiques.  We were in the business in Calif for quite ahile.

Jo, this is an incredible localism post for the Toronto Christmas Market!  Great pictures to go with the descriptions, and one of the first blogs I ever saw on AR was a picture of that wild statue of what I call "a lamprey eel that swallowed Bigfoot".  SUGGESTED!

Hi Edward and Celia!
Thank you for visiting this post. You must have some very interesting stories to tell from your days in the antique business.

I hope you're both enjoying this holiday season,

Hi John,

It reminded me of an old-fashioned Montreal Christmas - my Mom is French-Canadian and grew up in Montreal. She tells wonderful stories of growing up there and how every day they went to the Baker's for fresh bread, the Butcher's for meat, etc and in the winter there was soooo much snow!

It's such an enchanting place to visit. I wish it hadn't been so windy and cold the day we were there....I could have stayed for many more hours if my toes and face weren't froze.
