Web Design - never done!

Real Estate Agent with Keefe Real Estate
Hi, I logged on to see a slew of blogs on web design.  Working with a designer can be an experience but I knew what I wanted.  That is the easy part!  But the maintenance is continual.  I thougth I had it 'done' but now realize that there is more to do or move or whatever....in the process again.  What is reallly great is that you can see the results.  I keep trying to visit as a Buyer or Seller.  What am I missing?  What could be easier?  Does this stand out or should I take it out.  Endless.

Margaret, if you are referring to a marketing-based website for a business, the design process will end only when the business shuts down. The maintenance is continual, and more importantly, the design is continual. Using a web site to market your business is on ongoing process. The sites of major corporations tend to be revamped four or five times a year, e.g MSN.COM, THOMSON.COM, etc.

A key aspect of maintaining your sanity is to plan the site updates with a schedule and to stick to your schedule. Constantly updating, adding and deleting small elements can easily drain your energy and cause you to spend too much time on "web design" rather than your core business functions, whatever they may be. See http://activerain.com/blogsview/172177/Key-Areas-of-Marketing for more "jewels" of marketing.

Margaret.  I know what you mean.  I thought I had my site where I wanted it with just updates need.  How wrong I was. It is a never ending work in progress.
