A lot of Realtors will take off (mentally) from Real Estate during the December months. What the successful realtors will do is to prepare themselves so that they are ready for the January launch of 2013.
What can you do to get ready for BIG 2013 ? Here are some ideas:
1. Get your office prepared for 2013 - get rid of old files, clean off your desk, find an accountability partner to make sure that you are doing everything you need to do to be focused.
2. MCE Classes - don't wait until your license is about to expire - go ahead and knock out your hours needed during the slow time so that you don't have to take away from your real estate time for MCE classes.
3. Call your past clients and wish them a Merry Christmas! Ask them: What are you going to do different in 2013 ? You will probably be surprised when you hear what opportunities will open up for you!
4. Community Involvement - volunteer in a non-profit or do something anonymous for someone else. Want to build your self-esteem - do something for someone else without them knowing that you did it.
5. Go out an look at neighborhoods. Look for FSBO's, yards with lawns that haven't been taken care of etc. You will be surprised what you find out just by being observant.
6. Blog - you don't have time ? If you have time to read this then you have time to blog. It will increase your perception in the market place when people are looking you up on the internet.
7. THE MOST IMPORTANT ONE - Commit to taking one day off each week. NO emails. No Phone Calls - nothing and if you have the guts to do this - get your spouse to take your phone and computer with him/her to work that day just to make sure!
You can fail to plan or you can plan to fail - either way it's your choice!
