Galaxy Of Lights Huntsville Alabama 2012
The Galaxy of Lights is held every holiday season at the Huntsville Botanic Gardens (follow the link for map of the new entrance & contact info) in Huntsville Alabama. The Galaxy of lights began in 1996 and has grown in popularity every year since with locals and volunteers. It’s the largest single fundraiser for the Huntsville Botanical Gardens contributing to 20% of their operating budget. The Galaxy of Lights success is due in large to the dedicated volunteer staff of over 84 (at last count) including the “Galaxy Guys” who are the core staff of volunteers ensuring that the “Galaxy of Light’s” is never the same two years in a row.
Making up the tour are six miles of Luminaries, six miles of extension cords over 150 lighted scenes and 750 individual elements or figures.
The Galaxy of Lights which began this season on November 8th is currently running through December 30, 5:30 to 9:00 pm. Admission is $20 per car-up to ten people. Vans are $20 per van and $3 each additional person, the same applies to tour busses.
$1 off admission when you bring in donations of canned goods, toys, paper products, warm coats or pet food.
