Riverside Texas Christmas Parade 2012
The Riverside Texas Christmas Parade 2012 will take place on Saturday, December 15, 2012 at 11 AM. Participants are encouraged to begin lining up at the Riverside Baptist Church at 10:30 AM and bring hard candies to throw to the children lined up along the parade route.
The Riverside Texas Christmas Parade 2012 will begin by turning LEFT out of the church parking lot onto FM 980, passing the Riverside Volunteer Fire Department, and turning RIGHT on Front Street.
Walker County Sheriff’s Deputies will be on hand to stop the traffic on State Highway 19 at Front Street and again at FM 980 to allow Riverside Texas Christmas Parade 2012 participants to pass safely.
So... when you are heading down Front Street, at Highway 19 the Sheriff’s Deputy will direct you to turn right -- and then to turn right again on FM 980.
The Riverside Texas Christmas Parade 2012 will end at the Riverside Volunteer Fire Department where Santa will be to greet the children and pass out toys. Since the event is being held at the Riverside Volunteer Fire Department, there is a really good chance that Smokey the Bear will stop by, too!
I would like to take this time to thank The Riverside Area Lions Club for doing the toy drive that provided all of the new toys to be given to the children. I would also like to thank Pat Ford of the Riverside/Lake Livingston Area Chamber of Commerce. Pat has been the Riverside Texas Christmas Parade coordinator EVERY year since the very first Riverside Texas Christmas Parade in 2004. If you are interested in joining the Riverside Lions Club or the Riverside/Lake Livingston Area Chamber of Commerce, contact Pat Ford at (936) 594-2263.
I will look forward to seeing you at the Riverside Texas Christmas Parade 2012 at 11 AM this Saturday, December 15th! To join the event on Facebook, click here!
