Are you a snowbird?

Are you a snowbird?

How far south do you fly in winter?
Do you wait until after the holidays or travel earlier in the cooler season?

I can quite imagine that last weekend's storm really threw some late flyers for a loop-d-loop. After all.... what else would you dream of in a dozen inches of snow?

The birds flittered around this year. Heading every direction except South. It was kind of fun to watch the swarms. Suddenly last week we noticed them leaving town in droves... perhaps it should have been a sign.

As weathered Minnesotans we are taking the storm by force and not letting it slow us down. Drives are plowed and we are ready.

Ready for what you ask? Well, this weekend's coming storm. That's what.

We need the snow. We need the moisture. The rivers and lakes are down so far that you can see bottom in lots of unusual places. It's time to replenish and refill our water basins. I think that we might get that this season. Wouldn't you agree?

Hello Lindsey: I spent a lot of my life in the north and enjoyed each and every snowfall. There is nothing quite like the sight and sounds of a fresh snow especially at night.  However, we welcome all snowbirds here in central Sun City Texas who prefer warmer weather & easier driving.

Lindsey,

Snow is great.  I like skiiing but I don't like the shoveling and traffic problems.  I will be ready in a few years to be a snowbird and enjoy the south in January and February.
