Garden d'Lights Display at Bellevue Botanical Garden 2012
The lights are on at the Bellevue Botanical Garden for the yearly light show. Throughout the year, volunteers, under the direction of staff, turn tiny led lights into beautiful flowers reminiscent of the gardens beauty we enjoy during the "bloom" times of the year.
Garden d'lights at the Bellevue Botanical Garden is comprised of more than 500,000 lights which transform the Bellevue Botanical Garden into a blossoming winter wonderland. Over 150,000 people enjoy this dazzling display each December.
The lights are made by making a wire base, sometimes a straight stem, sometimes circles and sometimes just using the lights. The lights are tied in to place using twist ties or tiny wires to make the beautiful life-like blooms. Most flowers take nearly two hours to create. Flower creators armed with pliers work for nearly 10 months of the year to ensure the blooms are ready for the annual Garden d’Lights display at the Bellevue Botanical Garden 2012.
