The Aloha Aina Realtor Award Program was established in 1998 by the Honolulu Board of REALTORS®. It was established for the sole purpose of recognizing and rewarding REALTORS® for their extraordinary service to their clients, their colleagues and their community.
Over the last few years I have been nominated by my clients for the Aloha Aina REALTOR® Award. Though I hadn’t won, I felt I had ‘won’ when our Honolulu Board of Realtors had sent me the forms that my clients sent in. Those words of appreciation from my clients meant the world to me. Each year I felt the reward of knowing I not only did a good job…I always felt I had gone above and beyond with extraordinary service.
Our General Membership Meeting for REALTORS®was held yesterday at Hilton Hawaiian Village and as usual we had a few classes, our Trade Show and then our program and luncheon started. Over 1,400 REALTORS® attended!
There were door prizes, prizes from vendors (my Broker In Charge won a Kindle Fire!), our new President and Board Members were named and then came the awaited Aloha Aina Award Winners.
Of a few thousand REALTORS® on our island of Oahu (Honolulu County) 800 were nominated for this prestigious award. Only 10 nominees are awarded each year. One of the sponsors spoke and then they named five. Another sponsor spoke and they named four…paused…and then they named the last Aloha Aina Award Winner....Celeste Cheeseman from Century 21 Liberty Homes. I was stunned for just ONE moment because my Broker, Leona Soto was screaming. 
I was humble, honored ...and shaking while I walked up to the stage. My eyes were watering when I accepted my certificate and the ‘Green’ House award with my name engraved in gold.
All I could think of was how appreciative my clients were and how wonderful it felt to know that I was awarded this prestigious award because of them.
