Hot, hot, hot! That is the only word that describes Indio's real estate market. Known as one of the best areas to buy a newer home for under $200,000, it is becoming harder and harder to find such a deal. With the low levels of inventory, we are definitely seeing prices increase. Even new bank owned listings on the market are seeing an increase in list price. For home buyers who haven't bought yet, I wouldn't wait any longer because although prices are increasing, interest rates are still low. An increase in interest rates will effect how much you can afford to buy even more so. You will also want to team up with an experienced local Realtor who will negotiate on your behalf.

For traditional seller's, it's a good time to take advantage of the market. This may be a limited opportunity of such low supply.

The chart reflects the sharp increase selling prices starting around the end of August. It also reflects the multiple offers properties are receiving and thus higher than list price sales.
