Life is a wondrous and mysterious journey. It marches on with or without our approved participation.

The journey is not always easy. Peril and obstacles abound.

There are times of great joy and times of extreme sadness, and often the latter seems to linger within our being a lot longer than the former.

But what a blessing to be endowed with emotion!

It is our humanity that allows us to experience life beyond the ordinary senses.

It’s OK to be sad.

After all, we are only human.

Richard, it is ok to be sad, and we are very sad right now. I love your prose and the picture fits so perfectly. Today we are hosting the annual hayride on the green, we will be surrounded by children. I have very, very mixed emotions about this, my sadness is almost overwhelming.

Sadness is a part of life.  How could we possibly be happy without it.  A good message.

You are so right, Richard.  Emotion is a blessing and a curse, and yet it is the one thing that we all know at some level and it makes life tenable.

Good morning Richard,

Sometimes sadness is unavoidable.  I take the time to deal with it, and eventually make the move to get away from it.  Have a blessed day!

Between horrific events in the world, and peronsal losses at home, this has been a rough holiday season. When I was crying over the loss of my pet to someone the other day, I said, "This is really just a testament to how much she meant in my life.  How much she was loved."  With the good emotions, come the sad.  It's inevitable.
