Union County NC Neighborhoods—Wellington Woods
If you are looking for a hideaway in the woods, Wellington Woods may be the perfect place for you. You’ll find two and three acre lots in the subdivision with most of them heavily wooded.
Developed in the 1970s, Wellington Woods homes were built in the 1980s and the 1990s. You’ll find homes of every style in the neighborhood. Brick ranches, colonials with big front porches, contemporaries and newer transitional style-homes are all tucked among the trees.
With such a wide variety of home styles and ages, Wellington Woods has homes ranging from 1800 square feet to over 5,000 square feet. Exteriors can be wood or brick. Prices also have a wide range. You can find homes from the $200,000s to the $700,000s.
Wellington Woods was developed originally into four phases or neighborhoods. Each of the phases has its own homeowners association and restrictions. There are no amenities in the subdivision so homeowners fees are minimal.
Wellington Woods is typical of other neighborhoods in Weddington NC. This Union County town prefers a rural feel with lot sizes of at least an acre. Wellington Woods is located along both sides of Potters Road with convenient access to shopping at Austin Village Shopping Center or the Wesley Chapel Village Commons.

Wellington Woods Real Estate Market
Seven homes sold in the neighborhood in 2012. The median closed price was $370,000. All of the sales were market resales. There were no distressed sales in the neighborhood.
