Derek Tye is all about promoting the city he lives in. He has lived in the City of Montgomery with his wife and family since 2010. He is the current President of the Montgomery Ohio Chamber of Commerce. In the past, he has served the Chamber as the Vice President of the Executive Committee and on the Board of Directors. As President of the Chamber, his vision includes seeing existing businesses join the Chamber, having more businesses move into Montgomery, and the strengthening of the relationships between the residents, the businesses and the City. To this end, the Chamber has formed stronger committees to address communication, events and education, and membership. Derek sees engagement with the City as very important for the Chamber to move forward. In support of this, Derek and his family make it a point to frequent Montgomery businesses and City of Montgomery events. Derek is a real estate agent with RE/MAX United Associates and is owner and President of The Tye Group, a real estate team. Professionally, he promotes the City of Montgomery through videos on his business website. His business also sponsors the Sycamore Youth Soccer Association, the Leukemia and Lymphoma Association of Cincinnati, Sycamore Youth Football Association, Grand Sands Volleyball and Setters Volleyball Club.
In addition, Derek is a Trustee at Rivertree Church, where he teaches Sunday school to 5th and 6th graders and is the announcer at services for upcoming events and information. He also is an Assistant Coach for the Sycamore Athletic Club’s fifth grade Basketball team for 2012 and was a Head Coach for the second grade team and Assistant Coach for the fourth grade team in 2011.
Derek has joined the 2013 Class of the Montgomery Citizen Leadership Academy where he hopes to broaden his knowledge of the City’s governmental processes and learn new “ways to keep his community a great place to live and work”.
Have a great day!
