Upper Marlboro MD Real Estate: Finding the Right Client!

By
Real Estate Agent with Keller Williams Preferred Properties

Some real estate agents become specialists working with buyers, sellers, and/or renters.  Some even become experts at working with short-sales, foreclosures, and commercial real estate.  However, when seeking clients, realtors don't always know what they're going to get.  When marketing, the hopes are to attract potential persons who will consider giving you their real estate business.  At this point, real estate agents are really looking for a "yes."

So, what is the right client?  After much thought and experience, I've found the "right client" to be that buyer, seller, or renter who is sincerely serious and ready to do real estate business.  Too often real estate agents have their time consumed by clients who are not truly ready to engage in a transaction.  Unfortunately, realtors are not certified private investigators.  They are not trained to investigate the curiosity of undecided clients.  Instead, they are trained to help buyers, sellers, and renters actualize their real estate goals.  For buyers and sellers, this means that the goal is for the real estate agent to get them to settlement.  For renters, this means that the renter will find a property and sign a lease.  In all cases, a goal has been officially met.

While the journey to find that right client is sometimes long and tedious, the fact is that the right client will eventually come.  Whether the client comes clothed as a buyer, seller, or renter, it's a great feeling to know that they want your help.  There is a joy of knowing that you have helped someone achieve a personal goal.  Realtors want to work, and are looking for that challenge of providing a service.
