Silence still after one week in Newtown, CT
On Friday December 14, 2012, Lives for many Connecticut families changed during this holiday season. According to the police, Adam Lanza (20 years old) decided to shoot 26 incident faculty members and students in Sandy Hook Elementary School which was the worst mass shooting in US history. Lanza entered the school with a M4 military-style assault rifle and a handgun. The handgun was used to kill his mother at their home before entering into the school, and later used to take his own life. Authorities still are not sure why Lanza would lash out to defenseless first graders and their caretakers. According to Lt. J. Paul Vance (State Police), there won't be any final conclusions of what caused the shooting for another couple months. The investigating is still continuing. The gunman destroyed the hard drive of his computer before he started his attack that morning. Throughout Lanza's life, he was very quite and rarely spoke words to anyone. His mother was going to move to a different state to get him to attend a school or center to help him try to interact with others. He lived in the basement of his mother's home that was filled with his computer, flatscreen tv and video games. People are now blaming the violent video games on Lanza's attack on Sandy Hook. No matter what caused this awful event, please take atleast 10 minutes a day to pray for these victims and their families. Be thankful for sharing another day with your family and friends, because we don't know when our last day on Earth will be. We may not understand why things happen, but the Lord above always has a reason why. He has a path for everyone. We just need to believe in him, and he will guide us down the path he has written for us. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
