As December draws to a close, we will be waving goodbye to the 2012 Pantone color choice of the year: Tangerine Tango...or will we?
What did you think of this past year's shade of orange? We saw this sunset-inspired color splashed throughout the fashion world, tastefully chosen in our home decor accessories and the more adventurous among us daringly painted it upon our interior walls.
For my taste, I kinda have a love-hate thing going with all shades of orange. My first introduction to wearing orange was in High School. Every team uniform I wore, from cheerleading to track, was colored bright orange.
Since our secondary color was black, it'll be no surprise to you that we were nick-named Halloween High! Kind of a scary color combo in the first place, isn't it? *chuckles*
Naturally, this blazing color followed me into my college years at the University of Florida. Soon I realized that I would forever bleed Orange (and Blue)...with more pride than I ever dreamed possible. Yes my dear friends, it IS a Gator Nation. *smiles*
These days, as I skip along selling real estate in Denver's great neighborhoods, my orange Gator-gear always draws attention...though not for the reason you would think. Since we live in the land of the fabulous Denver Broncos, wearing bright orange typically means you're a Broncos fan, of course!!
During the 2011 football season, Broncos fans would walk up (when I'd wear Gator gear), begin a conversation and ask my thoughts about Tim Tebow (and yes, I was really crushed to see him leave Denver & wasn't very keen on his NY Jets trade).
Digressing to football for a moment...please understand that despite my Tebow love, I'm SUPER proud of the excellent leadership and amazing playing skills which Peyton Manning has brought to our hometown team! Add to that, Peyton is an SEC man. Seriously, how can ANYONE go wrong with choosing a player from the SEC? Good move Mr. John Elway! Hmmm...now that I think about it, even Peyton bled orange in his college years at University of Tennessee. Yep, if ever there was a color which always draws attention in Denver, it would have to be a very spirited shade of orange!
We LOVE our Broncos' orange here in Colorado! Keep playing strong gentlemen!!
Even though the Pantone 2012 color choice will change in the new year, I definitely won't be closing the door on the various shades of Tangerine Tango. Besides, why get rid of a color which has THIS COOL of a name? Just sayin'.....
Kindest regards and wishing ALL a wonderful Holiday!
