Homeownermedia.com Scam or Not?

By
Real Estate Agent with Coldwell Banker Tennessee Valley Realty
I am looking for anyone that has had any dealings with Homeowner Media in Newark, NJ.  I have been trying to get my website and/or my money back from this company since November of 2007.  They have given me the run-around until I have now filed a complaint with the NJ Attorney General.
If I am wrong about them I would like to hear from someone that has had a good experience.  I would appreciate any comments or input regarding this company.

I will have to admit that support is a challenge with Homeownermedia. The Support Ticket system they have is weak at best. The live chat though is awesome and I have always been able to talk to a live person during business hours. I have complained about the support many times and they claim that they are taking steps to make it better.

As for the company I have been there since October of 2007 and have been through some growing pains. I registered as a Certified Real Estate Consultant for the Bulk County PA region. Since active I have had at least 6 consultations per month which is much less than I thought I would get. I am surprised though at the amount of over-rides inherited and they have jumped up considerably last month. The over-rides have made up for the lack of consultations. I am currently on my 3rd commission check and am finally getting on track and getting a handle on the program.

I can say I am happy with the program and hope that they get a grip on the Support issues they are currently experiencing. They have a very good idea and the property side for anyone that used it is EXCELLENT!

I would recommend you try using the Live Chat and ask them to connect you to corporate. Voice your concerns and I am sure someone will reply either by phone or email.

I started with with another company and paid for their upgrade.  It is my understanding that homeowner media bought out this companies affilate base.  I sent the required information to homeowner media in Sept - Oct 07.  I received a confirmation that the first company sent monies to homeowner media on 10/31/07 to cover the CREC program.  I still do not have access to the website (for the CREC level) and since 1/22/08 I have not had access at all due to provisioning.  I have asked for my money back that was paid to the 1st compnay (remember homeowner media stated they received payment from the 1st company) and was told if I wanted my money back I would have to contact the original company.  I am still waiting to see how long it will take to actually get a working website.  I have also received emails stating that I have several commissions earned, but can not view them. (interesting)  I am however keeping copies of all emails. (future referance if needed)  If you do send a ticket in the back office make sure you copy them somewhere else.  They seem to disappear when you need to refer back to something they tell you.  I am trying to give them the benifit of the doubt and telling myself that there is only a glitch and all will be well.  But, 4 mo is a long time.

 Good LUCK!!!

Hello I have had the same issues. Has anyone had any conference call training. They have all been either cancelled or rescheduled do to the office closing because of the weather. It seems that this company first surfaced around sept. of 07. Is there anyone out there who has been around before then? Also has any one been contacted via email by a guy claiming to be a Real Estate Consultant marketer? Please advice....

Guys and Gals we have to get the word out on these scam artists.
If anyone knows of any sites to post this scam so that it will get to more people please post it to this blog.

They are SCAMMERS!  He started Consolidated Solutions Group aka CSG, ripped off affiliates and homeowners then changed the business name to HomeOwners Media, from what I am hearing he is repeating the cycle!

I have placed complaints with my local Attorney General, who transferred it to NJ.  I have placed complaints EVERYWHERE.  I'm in the same situation everyone else here is.  It is a scaw.  Lawyers do not want to touch this.  I've researched taking them to court locally.  I suggext we team up and end this for all of us.  If you are interested in that, send me an email @ r_a_brink@yahoo.com.  I will be MORE than happy to organize something.

To all that are interested.  I received a letter today from NJ Attorney General Division of Consumer Affairs.  It was short so here is the text:
"Dear Mr. Jones:
Thank you for your recent correspondence with the Division of Consumer Affairs.
We will review your concerns and you will hear from a member of our staff with an appropriate response as soon as possible.
Very truly yours,
Eva Knights
CSC/Reading Room"
If anyone would like to have a copy of the letter to get the contact information and case number just let me know.

Stay away from these guys. I first signed up over a year ago at the free LM1 level, then upgraded to LM2 about 4 months ago. They completed the easy part of the upgrade but not the parts that were difficult in the back office. They were supposed to provide me with a downline when I upgraded to NAM but that never happened. Getting any support is impossible.

Now they say there is a reverse merger" gojng on. No idea what that is. Supposed to be complete on 8/1 but it sounds like what they have done in the past.
