Midtown Plaza Condominiums in San Jose, CA, located between the Rose Garden and Willow Glen neighborhoods, were sold starting 2004 by K&B Homes and started the building boom in the area near Meridian Avenue and San Carlos Street. This gated, four story complex has 192 total units that range from one to three bedroom models that are modern and attractive. and underground parking. The area is getting redeveloped and I believe it will be a nice enhancement for this community. Major projects currently developed include a new large luxury apartment building finishing on adjacent Race Street and a new mixed use development starting on the southwest corner of San Carlos Street and Meridian Avenue with the old buildings demolished, including the former Meyer's Appliance and used car dealerships, among others. 
The Midtown Safeway Shopping Center has helped bring a nice grocery market into the Central San Jose area starving for more stores and shops. O'Conner Park is adjacent to the complex near to townhouses and a senior living center.
Midtown Plaza Condominiums are still involved with a lawsuit with the builder that has been going one for two years. It is still an open case, according to the Santa Clara County Superior Court website, and it is not clear when it will be resolved. With the current financing and real estate market, up to now only cash purchases have been accepted, often to investors, however I know lenders are now making loans on litigated complexes so contact my office if you need some referrals. Litigation is common for new complexes under ten years of age due to condo laws.
