Merry Christmas in Hawaiian
2012 was an exciting year for the Prothero family.
Jacob turned 12 this year and entered middle school and is already 5’4” and growing. He continues to play soccer, chess and soon basketball. Jacob’s soccer team won the state title again this year. Jacob also got certified as a soccer referee, which enabled him to get his first part time job refereeing HYSA soccer games. He continues to play in chess tournaments and has spent the last five days attending a chess camp with Grandmaster Timur Gareev who is the #3 rated chess player in the country.
Daniel turned 21 this year. Daniel took a break from college and got a new job earlier this year at the Honolulu International Airport, working ramp services. He cleans passenger planes and occasional unloads baggage. Daniel is still working a second job at McDonalds, which is allowing him to save money. With his savings and a little help from Santa, Daniel just bought a car and is excited to be mobile again.
Darnelle is still working for State Farm at their regional office. She has been taking college classes evenings and online. She was happy to have a break after finishing another semester. Darnelle has been keeping a tough schedule, running hard between work, school and Jacob’s sports activities.
Randy made a big change becoming the Broker-in-Charge of a new Keller Williams Realty. His business has been picking up and is expected to continue to grow in 2013. Randy teaches real estate classes and added a few new ones for agents in his company. Randy still volunteers as president of the Abunai Soccer Academy and the Hawaii Chess Federation. 2013 will be his 8th and final year as a state civil defense commissioner. He also sits on a few committees for the Realtor Associations.
The Prothero family has had an exciting 2012 and we are looking forward to 2013. We wish you and your family a safe and wonderful 2013.
