There's a street in Indio that rivals the beauty of the exclusive Clancy Lane in Rancho Mirage. Avenue 49. Not alot of people are aware of it, which the residents of this West Indio street like! The street runs East West connecting the Eastern edge of La Quinta at Jefferson to the Western edge of Indio at Monroe. It is only 2 lanes, and has a walking path running along it's edge, lined with a white fence. The landscape is desert friendly, low water and maintenance with Mesquite trees, hedges and desert flowers artfully planted.
There are several gated, non-golf course communities along the street. Montage at Santa Rosa is one of them. Large homes ranging from approx. 2800 sf to approx. 4800 sf are of Tuscan exteriors. The lots are large, ranging from approx. 10,000 sf to approx. 20,000 sf. The entry gates are large and beautiful..wood with iron hinges. The streets themselves are lined with walkways of interlocking pavers and covered shade areas..again all desert scape. It's like stepping into a small, intimate, village.
If you are thinking of a home near the polo fields, horseshow, music festivals, or just a quiet, classy peaceful setting, consider the area of West Indio along Ave. 49..worth it!
