You CAN'T DO THAT! Impossible! It's too much! It's too hard!
How many times have I heard those words (or uttered them myself!) And how many times have I stumbled because of it.
Goals I didn't reach... Dreams that remained just that - dreams. All because I thought it was impossible. Too much. Too high. Out of my reach. Too hard!
Happens to all of us, right? Then, a teacher appears that gets us back on track (and back to reality that ANYTHING is possible and within reach). Like the Turbaned Tornado...
Meet Mr. Fauja Singh - called the Turbaned Tornado. Mr. Singh recently celebrated his 101st birthday. He is the first 100-year old who completed a marathon. His personal best is 6 hours, 2 minutes in London Marathon in 2002, but he was 'only' 91.
You may have seen him along side of Muhamad Ali and David Beckam in the Adidas ads. He also carried the London Olympic torch.
Mr. Sign did not develop the ability to walk until he was five years old. His legs were thin and weak, and he could hardly walk long distances. Because of this, he was often teased, and had to carry the nickname "danda" - stick. I bet he had heard the words impossible, too hard, and you can't do that a lot.
Good thing he didn't pay much attention, huh?
"I won't stop running until I die," says the Turbaned Tornado. Not a bad attitude, if you ask me. Not a bad example, either. Time to get going and make the 2013 your best year ever!
