A little bit of heat can transform raw nuts into roasty, toasty, super crunchy versions of their former selves. We often cook them in the oven or on the stove top, but the microwave does a good job too. Just put them in a single layer on a plate and cook them on high at 30 second intervals. A plate of walnuts toasted up in 3 minutes, almonds and hazelnuts both took about 2 minutes. Remember that microwaves vary widely, so pay attention and let your nose be the guide. As soon as the nuts begin to smell toasted, they are ready! Enjoy!
