Giving Day Was a SUCCESS! On December 15, 2012 PSI World in partnership with PSI Seminars is held its 15th annual “Giving Day” for Las Vegas 2012 families in need. The goal this year was to provide Christmas for more than 650 children at Arturo Cambeiro Elementary School, who otherwise might not have a holiday. This particular school was referred to us through the Clark County School District. Each student received a want (toy...a scooter), a need (new clothing...sweatshirt), a new pair of shoes and socks & a supply of food for the holiday break. We will be handing out these gifts to the children during a “Giving Day Festival” at the school on Saturday, December 15th from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The pictures above I personally took at the carnival while the kids played and enjoyed thier friends and family. They played games, ate lunch, had pictures with Santa all before they received their gifts.
200 Volunteers participated & $50,000 was raised to pull off this project and we are asking for your support. All donations are tax deductible as PSI World is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization and our federal tax ID number is 23-739-6641. 100% of your financial contributions will go directly to this project. You and your family and friends are invited to join us in the distribution of holiday cheer throughout the community.
Some important data about the school:
-
650 children attend Cambeiro Elementary school
-
150 are considered homeless as they do not have a residence registered with the school. These children often live with other families in temporary situations, pay by weekly rentals, or are completely on the street.
-
ALL of the children at this school are on a free breakfast and lunch program
-
98% of the household incomes for the families are below the poverty thresholds set by federal poverty guidelines

This is the 6th year I have participated in Giving Day Las Vegas and I can not tell you how much joy this brings me. It is wonderful to contribute to the children in my community. A community that I was raised in, continue to work and live and love so much. Giving is the best way to show gratitude. And believe me the more I give the more I receive in all areas of my life! I'd love to hear about the ways you are giving back to your community this season.
