Community Education Opportunities

College Station Parks and Recreation Department in conjunciton with College Station ISD sponsors Xtra Education. 

The Spring 2007 guide is out and registration begins today.  No matter what your interests are Xtra Education has a class for you.  Classes include Spanish, Chinese, French, German and Japanese languages, as well as several ESL levels.   Learn to dance Country and Western, Jitterbug, Latin, Ballroom or Bellydance.  Crafts such as quilting, loom weaving, floral arranging, cspinning and cross stitch are offered.  Cooking classes, winetasting, exercise, photography, special kids and seniors offerings too!

Prices vary from class to class.

Here are a couple that sound like fun:  Clown College teaches you to how to dress and act the part as well as developing your own "clown persona".  This class is $35 and is held Monday evenings February 5th, 12th, 19th and 26th from 6:30-8:30

Hummingbird and Butterfly Gardens is another class offered February 27th from 7-8:30 for a $20 fee.  The class will teach you plants and tricks to use to attract both hummingbirds and butterflys to your garden.
