Do you take time to create New Year's Resolutions?
Do you reflect on the past year with your 'top' moments and 'bottom' moments?
Do you think about how it could have been different or what the new year has for you?
Long around Christmas I start thinking about the year that's passed and the blessings that I've collected. Unfortunately, I usually have reason to think of the things that could have gone differently as well. This year is no exception. There is much to think about.... much to look forward to... and much to be thankful for.
This past year was a tough on the back end for me. I'd go into details, but it really isn't worth the effort. The thing that the struggles did for me was give me something to look forward to!
As 2012 rolled into 2013 there was a party in my mind. I am truly excited for the turning of the clock. It is my new beginning... the ending of the last chapter and the beginning of the next chapter.
I wish that I could promise that I will write 52 stellar blog posts this year, but I'll be happy if I write 52 posts that dig deep and make a difference to even one reader. Last year I wrote a post that went completely viral and as much as I enjoyed the attention I know that a post every week on that level would be overwhelmingly impossible. At the bottom end of the year life went hay-whonky and I quite writing all together. This year I want to find my voice again. I have some things that I want to share I am aiming to hit my readers, grow my readership and bring definition and cultivation to my business through my writing.
I wish that I could guarantee 52 home sales this coming year, but I know that is unrealistic. As the homeschooling Mother of two very busy boys I will be completely satisfied with "enough" sales to take care of my family while having extra to give away. Having a bank load of money would be nice, but the reality settled in the fact that I am a person that makes money to give it away. In order to give it away, however, I need to make it in the first place.... that is my goal. It is also important to me for my clients to understand that they are not a number, but a client. I can't do that if I'm focused solely on a number....
I would love to say that by the end of 2012 I will be a size 12 <again> but that is truly an unrealistic expectation. Instead I will take the view of a good friend and walk every single day. That's 365 days of walking for at least twenty minutes. The best thing that I can do is stay active, live healthy and be strong. Whether I lose one pound or one hundred doesn't matter if I am taking care of me. This will <hopefully> be a catalyst to better health and bigger change. If I miss a day... it's okay. I am working toward a habit... a life long habit.
I CAN vow to take every day one at a time and to live it to it's fullest. When I wake each day I will think about how I can make a difference and I'll start there. I will start with being the best Mom that I can be. It ALL starts at home. From there the possibilities are endless and that is something to look forward to. The dreams are many, but we will take them one day at a time.
What are your goals this year? Are they specific and goal oriented or open-ended and inspirational? I'd love to hear.
