New Year’s Resolutions for Montgomery County

By
Real Estate Agent with Llewellyn Realtors

Happy 2013, one and all, in and around Montgomery County! I am sure, if you’re like me, you are still trying to shake off all the holiday activities and get back into the swing of working. It would be interesting to know how many times everyone has written the wrong year. But, all kidding aside, I hope all is going well for the beginning of the New Year.

I don’t have much to report. The holidays were good, and it seems we have averted a major catastrophe of going off the fiscal cliff, although I have a feeling we’ll be seeing more “looming deadlines” in the near future. I guess it will suffice to say that most of us will not be paying much higher taxes for awhile anyway. For me, I plan on taking a wait-and-see attitude before I go about planning how to spend all the money I’ll be saving.

Speaking of planning things, have you thought about your New Year’s resolution? I amstill working on mine. But I did hear something very interesting the other day about the making of New Year’s resolutions. A DJ on the radioKevin Resolutions wondered why we always have to give up something for a resolution. You know, like I resolve to cut down on my chocolate intake, or I resolve to loose 50 pounds this year, that kind of stuff. The DJ asked why we don’t resolve to eat more cookies, or really enjoy a pizza, instead of worrying about a little indulgence now and then. I have a feeling this will not work in many households, including mine, but it is a good thought!

I think I will start my New Year’s resolutions off with: I resolve to make more people happy by selling them a home this year. I think that is in line with what the DJ was talking about and as good a place to start as any.

So have you thought about any good resolutions to make this year? I’d love to hear them. Just feel free to contact me, Kevin Grolig, at 240-793-7495 today. One of the girls that works part-time for me asked me this the other day and I was unable to answer. She said she just wanted to make more people smile, and smile more herself. I thought that was a pretty good response.
