A little letter written by an ex-Marine to one of ourso called leaders.  Here is the link:

Pretty well sums it up.

Kevin -- as long as they can guarantee that ALL the criminals will be the first disarmed -- and they take away the baseball bats (which are used in many more deaths per year) and automobiles (which kill more than twice as many), and that their children/grandchildrens' schools don't have armed guards, and they are giving up their armed guards and/or arms -- and the heavily regulated arms area of Chicago drops to under 50 gun shot victims per year (2012 they had over 500) -- and they have actually balanced the budget - then maybe we might be in position to start to have a discussion about arms limitations.   [information cited from CDC and FBI statistics].

Once again, why are they even discussing this, when they haven't fixed the budget issues?

I have read the letter and applaud his words. Thanks for posting it. In 2012 more Americans were murdered with hammers than rifles. When hammers are banned I will reconsider my position on the matter.

Few have, but to read the Federalist Papers as regards the Second Amendment, its purpose is to prevent this type of gubment tyranny by having a more armed citizenry than the gubment can overcome.  In other words, the citizenry comprise an army larger than the gubment's.

EVERYTHING in the Constitution is to prevent and protect us from tyranny.

Wish they would concentrate more on the shooter and less on the gun.  I guess they can't figure out how to keep the gun out of the shooter's hands is their bottom line.
