A very good friend of mine is a professional referee and while Pete may know every call in the book his computer skills really remain to be seen.... as a favor he asked me the other day if I would mind scanning in some articles that he had clipped out of some referee magazines (who knew there was such a thing as a magazine about calling plays) and if I could then email this packet to him so he could share them with is ref friends around the country.

Heck thats the least I can do, and after all, a scan of a dozen pages is so simple...its basically a quick scan, click, and email and would only take me about 5 minutes when I was back in my office....
Little did I know how apropo these articles would be to real estate and how engrossed I would become in reading them....
Let us fast forward to about an hour later after I read them and now let me share in my blog today the jist of the first article which was entitled
"Two Words A Feferee Never Wants To Hear"
now before I tell you the two words...you have to admit that I have you wondering just what the two words are that I am going to share with you from this article are... ..... well believe it or not they are "I Think"
before you wonder if I am nuts going so crazy about the words "I think".... let me tell you exactly what the writer of the article was sharing.... basically he was saying that when one ref runs over to another ref after throwing a little yellow flag on national TV during a big football game that the head ref doesn't want to hear from the ref who threw the flag... I think that was pass interference or I think I have a hold.
You see the point to this story here is that YOU MUST BE POSITIVE ABOUT WHAT YOU HAVE!
I see so much to be learned here ... our clients look to us to know what we are talking about....to make the right call...give the right advice...
In a football game a coach would rather you miss a call then make one up..... so lets put this in prospective to real estate... have you ever misjudge a price on a listing? or perhaps marketed a property in a way that was just not correct?
Of course you have... I'm sure we all have.... and I will leave you with this thought
There is nothing wrong with picking up a flag if it shouldn't have been thrown in the first place... some of the best calls made are no calls ..... passing on a foul that you only think you saw is a good call and possible the best call you can make in the whole game. Great Lesson Learned from my friend Pete.... All the best, Jon
