I have no idea what pie has to do with books, but Reading Frenzy BookShop is hosting its second annual pie contest at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, January 23.
Get your rolling pins out, everyone, because the proceeds will be going to Passing the Bread food shelf.
The entry fee will be $5 per pie. There will be prizes for the winner and runner-up.
Pies are requested to be brought in between 1 and 6 p.m. to Reading Frenzy BookShop, 12530 Fremont Ave. No. 200 in Zimmerman.
Reading Frenzy will put on a pie auction at 7 p.m.
There will be a meet-and-greet session with Food Network and Twin Cities Live “The Pie Guy” John Michael Lerma. He will autograph copies of his cookbooks.
Lerma will also auction off one of his famous pies as seen on TV to help Passing the Bread.
