Age Doesn't Matter! Keeping Active DOES!

Body Sculpturing class starts tomorrow after having 2 weeks off. The first week is hard but it gets better as we improve. I may hurt the first week but I know the pain is a good one! That's what I keep telling myself and I'm sticking to it! LOL

In Casta del Sol we have an instructor that comes in and works us for an hour twice a week. We start each class with aerobics for warm up and then get into using weights for upper body strength. It is up to each of us how much we want to lift. Remember we are ladies from 55 to 94 years of age so weights don’t have to be heavy for us to get a workout. Yes, we have 2 ladies in their 90s working out. Just the fact that we are there doing it, will keep us moving as we age.

About half way though the class we switch to working with bands and doing squats to improve our leg muscles. We use stabilizing balls to improve our balance which is essential as we get older.

The last 10 minutes of the class is down on mates stretching out all the muscles we used and cooling down.

The thing I like is that the instructor walks around checking us to make sure we are doing it right, so we don’t injure ourselves.

Valorie, it is so true what you have stated, which reminds me I need to call on the fitness classes I bought through groupon.

Kathy, There is a 94 yr old lady that walks 1 mile to class and 1 mile back home. she does everything that we all try to do. An inspiration to us all!

I think it's all kinds of cool that ladies in their 90s are working out.  Keeping physically active ensures that our minds and bodies continue to work as we get older.
