I started out today but turned back just couldn't see the road with any degree of safety. it is snowing even harder now!
this is good.. The Treasure Valley (that area west of Boise including part of Malheur county in Oregon) is totally dependent on snow ..we need the snowmelt to fill our reservoirs and recharge our ground water. without it we are a desert just sagebrush and greasewood. With it we grow onions potatos (think OreIda frenchfries) corm wheat sugar beets and lots of hay.
This snowfall is perfect powder great for skiing. Boise has a wonderful ski area Bogus Basin right outside of town .. It offers night skiing and I know a large number of people are scheming to leave work a little early so they can get up there as fast as possible.
But as for me .today I am happy to be working from my home office outside of Vale Oregon,enjoying the flexibility that my profession offers!
