Before you jump in and make a decision, there are some important things that you should know about this community. We are going to take a look at the pros and the cons for the Broadway Lofts.

Overview:
The Broadway Lofts are located at 159 W 300 S in downtown Salt Lake City. The building is beautiful and the location is great. The units themselves are stylish, for the most part. Some of the lofts don’t have that lofty feel to them like you would expect, though. With a low HOA fee and a secure covered parking, the Broadway Lofts can be a good place to live.

Pricing:$200,000 - $600,000 (the penthouse was recently for sale for $1,000,000, but it is the only unit that would be that price)
HOA Fee: $200-$250/month (depending on the unit)
HOA Covers: Water, sewer, trash removal, recycle, common area, exterior insurance, garage parking
Size: 750 - 2600 square feet (most units are 750 - 950 square feet)
Year Built: 1900
Animals Permitted? Smaller than 20 lbs allowed
Parking: 1 car carport

Let’s consider the pros and cons for the Broadway Lofts
The Good:
The Broadway Lofts are in a great location. Being right downtown means that you can walk to everything. Now that the new downtown Harmons was completed, you can even walk to the grocery store. The building itself is architecturally very interesting. Some of the units have that urban, industrial, lofty feel that we all expect from a loft. The entrance into the building is gated and it feels very safe and secure. The immediate area feels relatively safe. You would probably feel just fine walking around the neighborhood at night.
The Bad:
My complaint with the Broadway Lofts is the same complaint that I have about most loft communities. A lot of the units just don’t feel like a loft. You expect to see exposed vents, tall ceilings, open floor plan, and huge windows, right? Well, like a lot of other loft communities in downtown Salt Lake City, many of these units just don’t have those things. Some of them just feel like old condos. There is a wide variety of floorplans, though, so you need to take a look at them. Parking is also a concern. No garage? Really?
