If it Seems too Easy...

By
Real Estate Agent with Keller Williams Cape Cod and the Islands

The old adage that if "it seems to good to be true, it probably is" relates to real estate in many ways. On the listing side, the listings that seem to fall in your lap often become the most time-consuming and troublesome. It's often the thing that "slipped the seller's mind" that come back to haunt the process. Maybe it's a propane tank buried in the backyard, mold in the attic, water in the cellar, or any number of things. Whatever it is, it takes a relatively simple closing and turns it into something that is anything but simple.

The solution? Do a thorough inspection of the property yourself and ask (and re-ask) questions until your are sure you have all the answers. It's the only was to avoid unnecessary and untimely delays.

Sometimes, easy is just that: easy.

Expect the worst, and the worst will happen.  Appreciate the easy and it will come more often...

An inspection is a necessity.

Thanks for the inspiration. By coincidence, I'll be in Myrtle Beach this weekend.

We had a great time in Myrtle Beach and had the opportunity to check out some real estate (and play some golf, etc). The 55+ communities that are popping up in the area made for some interesting field trips. The prices were very reasonable and the amenities were impressive (full fitness centers, swim pools, tennis courts, walking trails, community centers, etc).
