Northway Bank and the Laconia Area Community Land Trust want would-be homeowners to learn everything they need to know about buying a home in the beautiful Lakes Region of New Hampshire and they are giving away the education in an upcoming seminar.

Since its founding in 1988, LACLT, a non-profit, HUD-approved housing counseling agency, has turned out nearly 260 first-time homebuyers through its educational programs representing in excess of $38 million in local area home purchases. The January Seminar will cover such topics as Credit Scores and Budgeting; Mortgage Qualification; REALTOR representation; Home Inspections and Closing Transactions.
Organizers are hosting the seminar at the Northway Bank branch at the Belknap Mall, 9 Old State Rd., Belmont, NH. The session begins at 8 a.m. and continues until 4 p.m. Lunch and refreshments will be provided at no charge.
The stated mission of LACLT is to help low- and moderate-income households achieve economic self-sufficiency through the development of permanently affordable housing opportunities and associated support programs.
