When a person has a regular job there is always a very direct exchange of values involved. By this, I mean … a person is paid to do a certain job a certain way each day and, in return, is paid a certain amount of money for the work performed.
Real Estate is very unusual compared to what we would call a “real job.” In Real Estate we all want excitement … production … great, loyal clients … a wonderful income … freedom … and more time to enjoy life.
It’s interesting that the only way we’re going to get those types of benefits from selling Real Estate is to become a master Real Estate salesperson … which will, in every case, give you what you want from the sales business. It’s nearly impossible to have production at a high level without knowing how to sell and being good at the sales process. It’s nearly impossible to develop a high income in the sales field without giving tremendous value to other people … value that is so important they are willing to pay a lot of money for it. It’s nearly impossible to have the money and the freedom simultaneously unless you’re willing to pay the price during the hours you work to create the revenue streams necessary for a high income.
So, is the business giving you what you want? Let’s take a different approach … are you giving the business what needs to be done so you can accomplish the goals and objectives that you’ve set? Are you putting in the time … do you have the mindset and attitude of a winner … have you developed the skills required to make the sales … are you willing to extend the services required to earn the income that everybody wants? When you look at the business as being a business that we have to give to … instead of just take from … the business becomes a better business. Give yourself to the business and it will give you back what you want in return.
