We have had an awesome couple of days here in Jacksonville Beach, FL.

Yesterday, the weather was up to 80, and the beach was packed with people (apparently no one worried about Mary Lee the wintering Great White Shark, as her GPS has her off the Fernandina Beach coast).

The weather inspired me to post on Facebook a comment to all those who live in mitten states about our fabulous weather - think about it, they just look for the days when it's above freezing, or a day without a negative wind chill factor. I know, I used to live in a mitten state (NJ).

If you are looking to get out of YOUR January freezing temps, check out Jacksonville Beach. We get freezes occasionally, but they only last a few hours.

Carol- I remember when we first moved here and I would see the weather across the U.S... I was so glad to be here in sunny (usually) balmy Florida!!! Then when we lived in Leesburg, VA for a few years, I would look at the weather reports in February and wanted so badly to be in Florida.

Carol, was in the mid 80's with a soft breeze yesteday in Southwest Florida. Can't ask for a better day of weather regardless of what time of year. Enjoy your day!

I believe, it is one of the coldest January i've ever experienced here( LA, CA).

The cold is wet and 'bitting'. My family and a lot of my friends had flue virus and cold.

So, weird..

Our weather here was so hot on Saturday, it was so hot and muggy unlike those that have a beach, where you get that great breeze. Since Sunday morning we are now cold, that is ok I like cold but not freezing! I know picky picky! Have a great week!

Kathy - I could not stand the weather when I first moved here, it was so humid I felt I could not breathe when I stepped outside.

Inna - sorry; the weather has been odd this January...just read about the cold temps in southern CA the other day....hang in there, you know it won't last forever.

Conrad, I like cold weather, however, I now, after 20+ years in Florida, do consider 70 chilly :-)

Yolanda - I like our "winters" here in Jacksonville Beach, gives me the time to wear either a sweater or a jacket, but don't like the muggy summers, so I should just enjoy it while I can!
