Today's Menu Monday comes from The Chile Pepper, located at 1030 West 24th Street and on behalf of the Gutierrez Family since 1954. If you ever wanted to get someone's attention that has ever lived/lives in Yuma, Az. say the word Chile Pepp...er or Mr. G's, and you will quickly raise an eye brow! The Gutierrez Family, who owns and operates few different Mexican restaurants here in Yuma, Az. are wildly known for their tacos & burritos. My choice for Menu Monday is in line with what people know best. I was in love with the machaca burrito for years, but lately have been cheating on the machaca burrito for the Bean & Cheese burrito, which I complete with a 1/2 dozen rolled tacos and a Pepsi. The combination of all these flavors in your mouth will undoubtedly make your brain happy. The simplest of food, made as if it was the only place in the world where you could find it. What they do to their refried beans, while introducing it to the mozzarella cheese, then wrap it in a freshly made flour tortilla will make you hungry for Chile Pepper even if your not hungry! Then, invite the burritos best friends, the rolled tacos, and it's a fiesta! The corn tortilla is not only crisp and tasty, but the meat within the taco is flavorful, never burnt or over fried from the deep fryer. Before I enjoy my combo I open up the burrito and pour some of their salsa inside of it, then fold it back up as it was originally delivered to me while ordering. Then I rest my tacos in the remaining salsa and return them back to their home before I reinvigorate my brain waves again. When you get done you going to be stuffed and mentally stimulated. But best of all, when you tell someone that you had Chile Pepper today, wait to watch and see their reaction. For all my friends reading this away from Yuma, I am sorry for the torture this write up might have caused you, but please know, the Gutierrez Family welcomes you the next time your in town to come and get sum!
