When I first started in real estate, people would often ask for a Relocation Package. That meant maps, some printouts from the MLS 'book,' some Census Bureau statistics on area demographics, that sort of tangible information.
Over the last two decades, things have changed considerably. With the advent of the internet, and the fact that (according to NAR statistics) more than 90% of prospects go to the internet before they contact a Realtor, the idea of a Relocation Package seems a little different than it used to.
On my website, there is a Call to Action button that invites you to request a Relocation Package. Because I have received six requests in the past week for such an item, and because our Title Companies no longer supply the neat little package that we were once used to, I have thought several times about what should be added to a worthwhile Relocation Package, and what could they receive of value (besides contact from me :) ), that they couldn't find on the internet. Quite frankly, there's not much unique information that I can think to send them.
In what I have to share, I have a nifty, detailed City map that even includes the zip code breakdowns and a Visitor's Guide. I have four nice 8.5" x 11" glossy magazines that cover the topics of Business Development and Relocation, a local resource guide to areas and builders and local attractions, a guide to local neighborhoods in the Pikes Peak Region, and general factual data of the area.
But the fact of the matter is, there is not one 'magazine' or offering that I send that doesn't have a link to a website on its cover that provides the identical information.
So the question remains, as a consumer or as a Realtor, what do YOU think should be included in a Relocation Package?
