Today I made a drive to Tekonsha, Michigan. It is a small community just South of Marshall. According to the 2000 Census, only 712 people lived in this small village of less than one square mile. By the 2010 Census the population was just 717 people. So you can see this is a relatively small community, and not much in the way of explosive growth has occured in the last 20 years or so.
Tekonsha is famous as the birthplace of Talbert Abrams, the man considered the father of aerial photography. Tekonsha is in Calhoun County, and has some beautiful historic homes that I had to stop at one today and take this photo. It not only is a classic historic home, but is has the Tekonsha water tower right behind it in the shot. A piece of Americana.
