Sorry But I Don't Respond To Anonymous Emails.

Real Estate Broker/Owner with Tutas Towne Realty, Inc and Garden Views Realty, LLC BK607690

anonymous agent

Good morning folks.

Here’s a little tip for you to make all of our jobs just a tad easier.

TIP: Change the default email signature on your smartphone and add your contact info and who you are!!! Here’s how.

Seems like this would be a no brainer doesn’t it? Well it’s not. In fact, the majority of the emails I receive have ZERO contact info.

I need to know who you are not: Sent from my iPhone OR  Sent from Mike’s iPad

I’m actually thrilled to see you are using technology and are responding promptly BUT please identify yourself and give me the info I need to contact you back.

Or......your email just may be deleted. I’m too busy to deal with anonymous people.

Especially agents who should know better.

Very valid point indeed,Bryant. Maybe it is the case of the smart phone getting the better of them. However, this ranks right up there with not leaving a voicemail and also not listening to voicemails.

I think it is important to add contact info/email signature especially for business related communications. Besides making it easier for the recipient to contact us back, it is also a good way to remind people who we are. My signature includes full name, real estate designations, telephone number, website, and disclaimer. By the way, love your sunglasses Bryant!

BB, My pet peeve is anonymous phone calls. If it says "unknown" or "withheld" I don't answer.

BTW that "let me google that for you" is pretty cool also.

You know Nate, I hadn't even given this thought and I just got a new smart phone. I'll definitely have to take a few minutes today and create a proper email signature so I can make a better impression on those who receive emails for me via my phone.

Good post - we all have to stay cognizant of putting our name out there - and as Bryan said, sometimes it's just an oversight when a new phone is purchased. Some of the best marketers out there have their name and contact information on EVERY method of communication. One person I know has their phone number right beside their name so the phone number pops up as part of their name.

Thanks, BB, for the info.  I always thought the same signature on my email would send from my phone as well.  I will get right on this!

Fake names and anonymous emails. Had an affiliate recently saying they had a web site hit from Honey Boo Boo. For starters, she's a minor, so I doubt she's looking to buy a house in Virginia.

Although the glasses are nice they are a bit for a signature that seems like common sense or common courtesy or maybe both!

You have a very unique look about you! Love the glasses!

I have a droid and it's going to take some brain work to figure it out. I tried but I didn't get far. However, I am not going to give up.

Thank you! By way, thanks to Kathy, I have bookmarked this one for further analysis and problem solving.

I LOVE the photo!  Great staging by your grand daughters!

I just got an iPad last month, and it's a learning process.  I followed your instructions and changed my signature.  Turns out I was already covered because I send all mail from my iPad using gmail.  If I ever do use the "ipad mail" though it won't be saying it was sent from my iPad.  Thank you!
