When it comes to finding a great place for a beach vacation there are certainly no shortage of choices and locations to choose from. California has some of the best beaches in the world and amongst those in San Diego is Pacific Beach, aka "PB" as it is known to locals in the area.

Pacific Beach is the vibrant beach community in San Diego that has beach hotels, resorts and low cost motels starting at about $69.00 a few blocks from the ocean and a list of beach bars and restaurants too numerous to mention.

Pacific Beach California, one of San Diego's most popular bech areas.

Every community has its own "flavor" and Pacific Beach is one of youthfulness, fun, boardwalks, surfing and beach cruisers. The "PB" area has miles of boardwalk going into Mission Beach and Mission Bay and once you park your car everything is within walking distance.

Shopping includes great one of a kind fashion boutiques for women, clothing stores, surf shops and one of a kind specialty stores.

The Pacific Beach area is known for Garnet Avenue, which is the main street coming down from the pier and has stores and bars lined up on both sides. Aside from being a "party town" and college town at night Pacific Beach is still one of the best spots to sit on the boardwalk and have coffee and people watch.

If you are planning a vacation and want to be by the beach check out San Diego and Pacific Beach since there is something for everyone. It is high on my recommended places to visit and this local website has a lot of local resources and things to do in the area

Everything is close in Pacific Beach including the airport (about 15 minutes) and there is a paddle boat that will take you across Mission Bay for a nice romantic sunset or a dozen great bars and restaurants along the boardwalk to take in the sunshine.

Make a trip to Pacific Beach and you will not be disappointed!

I miss PB!  Use to live in San Diego and we use to go to the Red Onion Club/Restaurant on the beach at night and play volley ball on the beach.  Have a slice of pizza (can't recall the name of the place) and then visit all the bars on Garnet.  Wow, what great memories.
