I started using hittails on most of my websites and blogs about 3 weeks ago. For those that do their own SEO optimization, this is a great tool.
Basically, you add code to each page on your website. Each time someone does a search via google, or anywhere, clicks on a link that takes them to your webpage, you get that exact search embedded in results you can view. You can then click on the results and see exactly where they found you at on the internet. I am amazed at some of the ways people are finding my webpage.
Then, after data has been collected by hittail, they can "suggest" certain topics you should write about and post on your webpage, blog that will easily move your webpage higher up in the search. I don't know how they determine exactly what is considered a "hit" or a "suggestion", but from what I have read, this has been paying off for people that have been using it for several months.
I just now got a few "hits" the past few days, and added a page to my website that is related to this. We'll see what happens.. I've been doing some blogging about different subdivisions around Indianapolis, I have been getting all kinds of hits from people searching for these particular areas.
