For some reason I was craving Hungarian Goulash, so  last night while I was shopping at Ava's Downtown Market in Mountain View, CA I pulled out my tablet computer of my purse and looked up a recipe.  Once I got home I pulled up about 5 rmore ecipes and I blended them together.  This is my version of Hungarian Goulash

2 1/2 lbs stew beef cubed

1/2 stick of butter

2 large sweet onions chopped

1 clove garlic chopped

16 oz of beef broth

32 oz of chicken broth

3 tablespoons of crushed red pepper  (Lusitana brand or similar)

5 tablespoons of sweet paprika

1 C red wine

6 Yukon potatoes, cubed

salt/pepper to taste

Saute the onions in the butter, add the cubed beef and the garlic. brown together and add the broth, wine  and the paprika and the pepper.  Cook on low for about 2 hours. add the potatoes last  cook for another 30 minutes.  Serve with buttered noodles.  You can add sour cream for an additional richness

Once I came to open house and a lady served ....Goulash ( I do believe it was not you:),

I came with my client, so my client was very curious to try:) I'm from Ukraine, so I know what it is. In my family we baked it in the oven:)

Inna.

It was not me:-)  I would love to see your family recipe, many do bake in the oven but I like the smell of stove top cooking
