There is a great volunteer spirit in the Elk River Community as evidenced recently by the folks at the Home Depot and by the generous sponsorship of Behr Paint.
The Great River Family Promise is a faith-based nonprofit who want to provide homeless children and their families with obtaining stable housing by providing them with short-term emergency shelter, food, case management and hospitality.
The future day center for area homeless families which is owned by the Elk River United Methodist Church got a bonus when they asked Home Depot for help getting one room ready for their mission.
The Home Depot came through with and $8,000 grant and Behr paint donated the paint for the project.
Read the whole story here. And, I think we should all thank The Home Depot and Behr Paint with our own dollars!
