I see your question. What you need to do at Active Rain is post significant content, or questions. Lots of helpful people are here in various real estate fields: Realtors, appraisers, inspectors, stagers, the loan industry. Active Rain, with the proper use of blogs and tag clouds can do huge things for your online visibility. It takes work but is worth it.

Hi Karen, welcome to The Rain.  I assume your question is really asking if the information available here is helpful and do you get business from posting here.  The answer to both questions is yes.  Take some time and look around, spend time learing how to use your tags and how they can help promote you.  I had a person last week do a search and then went to my blog.  He's now my client and we wrote a contract on Monday.  Don't hesitate to ask questions, I promise you'll get a response.  Have fun and be creative!

 Karen,  yes lots of people are looking and yes most of them are agents just like you.  However I can give you a real world example of Active rain in action.  Someone googles Home Inspectors Olive Branch MS.  Okay then they get all the paid ads or high ranking sites.  But something catches their eye.  The search turned up a blog post from here on AR.  So they check it out and read the profile then call to order a home inspection.  Somebody is looking and not just other agents.
